HCP
SERIES FORCE MONITOR
The
Seiwa HCP Force Monitor monitors the actual electrode
force during welding. The monitor displays the initial
force, and the minimum and maximum force that occurs
during the welding process. The ability to set limits
for upper and lower electrode force provides quality
control, interrupting welding when force is outside the
preset window.
In
addition to automation and pneumatic applications, the
HCP Force Monitor enhances process control when using
manual weld stations. The speed at which the operator
lowers the weld head affects the electrode force. The
HCP monitors the initial electrode force and interrupts
welding if the force is too high or too low. This feature
assures welding will take place only when proper electrode
force is applied. Correlation data obtained as a result
of force monitoring can link electrode force to pull
or other quality tests, thus providing the necessary
control to improve efficiency and yield. The ability
to adjust physical limits on weld head travel using the
force reading feature makes the HCP Force Monitor an
asset during the setup of weld stations. |

SELECTION
OF FORCE MONITORING MODE
Selection
of Fixed Range Welding Force initiates the weld
after the force reaches the preset range, keeping the
applied force constant. Upslope Welding Force selection
fires at a specific force setting and the electrode force
increases throughout the weld. A loadcell detects the
force applied to the work piece, allowing easy adjustment
of the welding force.
