MAW
PLASMA ARC WELDER
Plasma
Arc technology is a method by which similar and dissimilar
materials are easily and consistently joined. A high
density plasma arc enables the MAW welder to weld materials
in 0.1 millisecond, minimizing the heat affect zone and
producing stronger, more ductile weld joints with little
discoloration or deformation.

FEATURES
AND BENEFITS
- Elimination
of solder or flux results in clean surface
- Short
weld period limits heat stress, minimizes heat affected
zone and oxidation
- Joining
of similar, dissimilar and difficult to weld metals
- Operator
control of plasma arc rise time, weld time and downslope
- Operator
control of flow of shielding gas during pre and post
weld time
- Current
monitor displays status of torch firing and finished
weld current
- Two
channel module built into the MAW-30 facilitates
multiple applications
- Dual
flow meter built into the MAW-30 for control of shield
gas mixture
- Weld
counter built into the MAW-30

The
Process
Plasma
Arc Welding uses a simplified and controlled process
so operators can achieve high integrity welds with minimal
training.
1.
The two materials to be welded are positioned.
2.
The operator sets the welding conditions:
Amount of current - Upslope time - Weld time
Downslope time - Flow rate of gas - Flow time of gas
3.
Capacitor banks discharge, igniting the torch and creating
an arc between the electrode and workpiece
4.
The materials reach the proper welding state causing
the molten masses to combine and form a complete alloy
bond.
